Assistant Coach – John Van Oenen
Coach John Van Oenen brings more than 10 years of experience coaching and teaching youth hockey. He spent two seasons coaching at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep, where he served as an assistant coach on the 2025 state championship team. John is a graduate of Arizona State University.

Drawing on his years behind the bench, John brings a well-rounded approach to developing players, combining hockey knowledge with an understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level. He is committed to helping players grow their skills while building the kind of team culture that produces winning programs.

John believes the lessons kids learn through hockey — discipline, resilience, and teamwork among them — help shape who they become, both as players and as people. He's dedicated to creating an environment where players are pushed to improve while enjoying the game along the way.
